My practice is deeply influenced by my childhood in Northern Ireland. Growing up at the end of a conflict, in a country where peace was relatively new, my childhood memories are filled with the beautiful country I was surrounded by; bomb scares and overhead helicopters are merely a distant memory.

I strive to create work which reflects these memories – pieces which evoke a sense of what it means to be Northern Irish, which are symbolic of both the beauty of the country as well as its ugly past.

At first glance, my pieces are similar to the ones which fill our homes, they are quiet and undemanding in their functionality. Locations, which reflect more than just the beauty of the land but are connected to the experiences of the people, are embedded into these objects through exploitation of processes and materials.
